Chapter 103

Hua Suihe didn’t mind, taking the garment and wrapping it around herself before offering a soft thank you.

Fang Ge waved her hands dismissively. “It’s fine, it’s fine. By the way, why are you out here all by yourself?”

Hua Suihe squatted by the fire, her face heavy with worry. “I was suddenly transported here. Is there a speedrun route for this dungeon? Ye Susheng will be worried if she can’t find me.”

Yi Shuang looked up at the moonlight. It had returned to normal, indicating that Ye Susheng had already left the immediate area. She shook her head. “There are no side-quest speedruns. The only way out is to walk out of the desert.”

Hua Suihe cupped her face in her hands, her eyes filled with distress. “The temperature is so low at night, and with the tornadoes, we can’t travel. We’ll have to wait until dawn.”

The Danger Detector in Yi Shuang’s arms suddenly began to wail. Just as she pulled it out, the palm-sized device started smoking. Her expression immediately became complicated.

“Maybe… you don’t need to worry anymore.” The detector, which had cost five hundred points, had been fried in an instant. There was a high probability that Ye Susheng was charging back this way.

Fang Ge covered her nose and leaned in to look. “It’s scorched already? Didn’t one just break a moment ago? These things are useless.”

The writing on the detector was blurred; it was completely scrapped. Fang Ge took it, flipped it over a few times, and finally tossed it aside in disgust. “You shouldn’t buy these anymore. I’m starting to feel bad for your points.”

Yi Shuang glanced at the scorched remains and said tonelessly, “You certainly are quick to throw my things away.”

Fang Ge felt a momentary pang of guilt but quickly smiled and huddled closer to her, stretching her hands out toward the fire. Her tone was playful. “Well, it was broken, wasn’t it? You threw the last broken one away yourself. I’m just helping you handle it this time.”

“Handling it” by tossing it aside, though it didn’t land very far.

Hua Suihe didn’t have access to the points shop, so she naturally didn’t recognize the scorched box. Her gaze drifted between the two women before she cut in during a lull in their conversation. “What did you mean just now when you said I didn’t need to worry?”

“She’s probably coming for you,” Yi Shuang added. “Your wife.”

Hua Suihe stood up abruptly, the firelight making her eyes sparkle. “Really? Do you know where she is?”

Yi Shuang pondered for a moment. “It shouldn’t be hard to find her…”

After all, given Ye Susheng’s personality, she would surely turn this place upside down to find Hua Suihe. Her presence would be very obvious.

However, while Ye Susheng’s location wouldn’t be hard to find, it wouldn’t be easy for Hua Suihe to approach her. This dungeon wasn’t Ye Susheng’s home turf; even if one duplicate BOSS had been killed, there were still many other Anomalies lurking in the area.

Hua Suihe had always been well-protected; she might struggle to avoid those dangers on her own. Furthermore, if Ye Susheng was in a state of blind rage, Yi Shuang couldn’t think of a way to bring Hua Suihe to her without the girl getting hurt.

Hua Suihe waited quietly for Yi Shuang to continue, but she saw the woman hesitate and swallow her words.

“Sorry, it’s the middle of the night and we only have moonlight. It really is asking too much to find someone right now.” Hua Suihe realized she was being too impatient. She squatted back down sheepishly, wrapping her jacket tighter and staring blankly at the fire.

[Where are the Entrepreneurs in the stream? Are all the god-tier whales asleep at this hour?]

[A 98,888 tip for precise positioning, 108,888 to max out defense, and 38,888 to stay warm. Having a Streamer Bae like this is so inspiring; I finally have the motivation to work and earn money.]

[Dropping over two hundred thousand just like that-Sister Wuqi is a legend!]

[Gu Gu and Brother Zimu lost their chance to shower her with gifts because they were late to the stream.]

Hua Suihe listened to the System announcing the gift redemptions. As her livestream level increased, the gifts in the room were becoming more and more expensive. However, that “precise positioning” might just solve her current predicament.
[Livestream gift redeemed. Cold-weather package dispatched. Player Hua Suihe, please proceed ten meters to your right to collect it.]

To her right, Hua Suihe looked over and could just make out a pink backpack poking out from the yellow sand.

She stood up and started walking toward it.

Fang Ge was quick to react, grabbing her arm to stop her. “Where are you going? I know you’re anxious, but don’t rush. It’s freezing out there. You’ll freeze to death before you even find anyone.”

Hua Suihe shook her head. “No, I’m just going to pick something up.”

Pick something up?

Fang Ge didn’t understand, but Hua Suihe had already pulled her hand away and walked over.

Seeing Fang Ge’s dazed and confused expression, Yi Shuang kindly pointed to the package peeking out of the ground ahead of Hua Suihe. “She’s not stupid. Your concern is unnecessary.”

Hua Suihe lifted the backpack, brushed off the sand, and carried the supply bag back.

Fang Ge’s face flushed with embarrassment. She muttered under her breath, “Didn’t we already scour this area? How did we miss such an obvious bag? Does that even make sense?”

Yi Shuang replied nonchalantly, “Well, maybe she has her own built-in cheats.”

Fang Ge grinned and looped her arm through Yi Shuang’s. “It’s fine, Boss. You have a built-in cheat too. Even if it’s just a ‘dead weight’ attachment like me, it’s still a cheat.”

Yi Shuang: “…”

Hua Suihe opened the package. Inside was a long white coat made of lightweight fabric. It had a hood and reached down to her ankles. With a belt to cinch the waist, she could wrap herself up tightly. Though the material wasn’t thick, it was windproof and cold-resistant; she felt warm the moment she put it on.

Hua Suihe returned the borrowed coat to Fang Ge. “Thank you.”

Hua Suihe then pulled a pair of sand goggles from the bag. As she put them on, she noticed electronic data appearing on the lenses.

Her target, Ye Susheng, was thirty thousand kilometers away.

So far!

In disbelief, Hua Suihe took the goggles off and put them back on. The distance to the target was now twenty-eight thousand kilometers.

If she had a teleportation ability, she wouldn’t feel so discouraged right now.

Hua Suihe stared at the target on the goggles. The movement speed was very fast, but the route taken seemed to loop closer and then further away. After watching for a while, she sighed and took off the goggles, turning her attention back to the people beside her. “Do you know which sector this is? This desert is huge.”

“This is outside the sectors, on the outermost perimeter of the twenty-five zones,” Yi Shuang answered. She glanced at the name tag hanging from the bag Hua Suihe had retrieved, thinking to herself that this really was a ‘cheat.’

“If we don’t head toward the inner sectors, we’ll never reach the edge of the wasteland,” Fang Ge said, surreptitiously hugging Yi Shuang’s arm and looking at her pleadingly. “I have zero sense of direction. I’m a total noob, please carry me.”

Yi Shuang felt a bit helpless. “Aren’t I already carrying you?”

Hua Suihe only seemed to notice the vibe between them at that moment. She spoke her thoughts aloud without thinking: “Are you two dating?”

[Holy crap, Hua Hua, you…]

[I can’t believe you dared to ask that. I’m almost too scared to listen. That’s way too direct!]

[What’s the chat laughing at? I want to know if they’re dating too. Hua Hua knows exactly what to ask.]

Dog-head emojis flooded the livestream chat, but on the scene, the atmosphere turned silent.

Hua Suihe was completely oblivious to the awkwardness. Her clear eyes rested on them, waiting seriously for an answer.

“We’re not,” Yi Shuang replied. Her tone was flat, but her words were sharp. “I don’t do romance. Relationships are a hassle, and I don’t like looking for trouble.”
