Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 157
Chapter 157
“Hua Hua, Xia Moyi has already been rescued.” Ye Susheng still remembered the purpose of this trip.
“That Agency has been destroyed too. Xia Moyi isn’t in danger anymore, so Hua Hua doesn’t need to worry.”
Hua Suihe lifted their joined hands slightly. Their fingers were bare, missing a little decoration.
Under Ye Susheng’s intent gaze, Hua Suihe brought up something else. “Ye Zi, we should get married.”
Ye Susheng visibly froze, blinking dazedly. A moment later, her eyes suddenly lit up like dawn breaking over the horizon, and her entire being seemed to brim with vitality like a fresh spring bud.
“Hua Hua said she wants to marry me?”
“Do you mean getting a marriage certificate and holding a wedding like humans do?”
“Do we wear wedding dresses and exchange vows?”
“After we get married, Hua Hua will really become my wife!”
It was obvious that Ye Susheng was overjoyed. Those little fantasies made her eager to leap into action.
Before Hua Suihe could respond, Ye Susheng abruptly calmed herself down. Rather mournfully, she touched her own cheek. “But I’m so ugly right now. I won’t look good in a wedding dress, and our wedding photos won’t turn out well either.”
Hua Suihe shook her head in disagreement. “I’d actually like to take one with you the way you are now. What if I can’t see it anymore in the future?”
Ye Susheng was very sensitive. She immediately grew tense and asked in return, “Why wouldn’t you be able to see it? Is Hua Hua leaving?”
Hua Suihe helplessly pinched her cheek. “I’m talking about you. You dislike this appearance of yours so much. What if you refuse to show it to me in the future?”
Ye Susheng breathed a sigh of relief. She wrapped Hua Hua’s hand in her palm and guided it to rest on her face. “If Hua Hua wants to see it, I won’t refuse Hua Hua.”
Hua Suihe stared at her meaningfully, then nodded. “Then let’s go take wedding photos.”
“Now?”
Ye Susheng lowered her head and looked at herself. After a moment of bashfulness, she said, “Isn’t this a little rushed?”
“Not rushed at all. The timing is just right. We’ll go back to Area A for the shoot. We’ll finish tonight, spend one night at the little wooden cabin, then come back tomorrow.”
Since Hua Suihe had already made the suggestion, there was absolutely no reason for Ye Susheng to refuse. “Okay.”
Once decided, they acted at once.
First, they showered and changed clothes.
Hua Suihe and Ye Susheng wore matching couple sweaters with the same pattern but different colors, one pink and one blue. The long sweaters were paired with nude fleece-lined tights and tall leather boots, a very autumn-winter outfit.
Ye Susheng did not know cold or heat, so she let Hua Hua dress her however she pleased. When she looked in the mirror and noticed the red markings stretching up from her neck to her face, she tried to cover them with a scarf and mask, but Hua Suihe stopped her.
Without another word, she pulled Ye Susheng out the door. At first, Ye Susheng wanted to take Hua Suihe and directly shuttle over, but Hua Hua said she wanted to take a plane, so the two of them went to the airport to buy tickets and board.
Two hours later, they landed at the airport in Area A.
There had long since been no human residential zones in Area A, so the wedding photography studio they went to was Anomaly-run.
It had been ages since the staff had seen a human. When they caught the fragrant scent on Hua Suihe, they nearly revealed their true form and swallowed her in one bite. Then they saw the God of Slaughter beside her.
The gaping mouth transformed into a fawning smile. “You two Honored Guest, are you here for wedding photos?”
“Mm. Dresses for both of us.”
“With figures as lovely as yours, you two can wear absolutely any style of wedding dress.” The staff member cheerfully flattered them while leading them up to the third floor to look at the haute couture styles.
“These were all designed by famous designers. Every single one is a limited edition, with only one of each in existence. Please take a look and see which one you like.”
Limited edition or not, as long as they did not go anywhere else, they would not see the same dresses anyway. If the staff said they were limited, then so be it. Hua Suihe did not really care about that. As long as they looked good, that was enough.
Two staff members were assigned to help them choose and try on wedding dresses.
Ye Susheng insisted on helping Hua Suihe change herself and refused to let the staff do it. In her eyes, helping someone get dressed was far too intimate.
Hua Suihe tried on several gowns in a row, and Ye Susheng said every single one looked good. This was the tenth dress she had changed into. When Hua Suihe saw Ye Susheng nodding over and over in satisfaction, she could not help reaching out to steady that bobbing, chick-pecking head of hers.
“Stop staring at me changing. You haven’t tried on a single dress I picked for you, and we still have to take photos later.”
“Hua Hua is so pretty. I just want to look at Hua Hua.”
Hua Suihe had no interest in listening to her sweet talk. Hugging the red wedding dress she had chosen for her, she pushed Ye Susheng into the fitting room. “Hurry up and take it off. I’ll help you change.”
Ye Susheng could only cooperate with Hua Suihe’s movements. These wedding dresses were large and heavy, and it took some time to put one on.
Once they were dressed, the two of them stood together in front of the mirror.
The wedding dress Ye Susheng wore was a vivid cinnabar red. The upper half was made of figure-hugging lace, with a sleeveless off-the-shoulder design that left her red markings exposed, matching them so perfectly it looked as though they had been painted on just for the dress. Below, layers upon layers of chiffon spread out in the skirt, soft and full, glittering like stars beneath the lights.
Hua Suihe stood beside her in a white wedding dress. The pure white gown was like a cloud blooming in the mortal world, shimmering with a gentle luster beneath the lights. Its exquisite tailoring accentuated her slender waist and elegant curves, while tiny pearls and rhinestones adorned the dress, delicate and dazzling.
Ye Susheng hooked up a lock of her long hair and laid it over Hua Suihe’s fair, smooth shoulder, matching the color of her gown.
Ye Susheng could not help being entranced. “Hua Hua is so beautiful.”
The black mist seemed to have found a new toy. It turned into wisps of black smoke, lingering and weaving through the folds of Hua Suihe’s gauze skirt. Their playfulness added a few more touches of beauty to the wedding dress.
Hua Suihe slipped her arm through Ye Susheng’s and leaned toward her. Red and white intertwined, and her own pink hair fell onto Ye Susheng’s gauze skirt as well.
From the bottom of her heart, Hua Suihe said, “The two of us really do look perfect together.”
After that, they picked out two more sets: an ink-wash-colored wedding dress for Ye Zi, and a grayish sapphire-blue wedding dress for Hua Hua.
Taking wedding photos was indeed an extremely time-consuming affair. Including the time spent on makeup, by the time they finished the shoot, it was already midnight.
The owner said retouching would take time and that they would have to wait a few days before receiving the photos. Under Ye Susheng’s unwavering gaze, they retouched two photos on the spot, printed them out for the couple to take with them first, and rushed the rest of the edits.
Ye Susheng brought Hua Suihe back to the little wooden cabin.
They had not returned in a long time. But after all, it was a model inside a game world; even if no one lived there or cleaned it, it would not gather dust or grow spiderwebs.
The solar-powered lights they had installed before still worked. Once the lights were turned on, the little wooden cabin regained its old warm and cozy appearance.
Hua Suihe collapsed onto the bed and buried her face in the blanket, then rolled around comfortably.
In truth, living in a little cabin out in the mountains, growing vegetables, basking in the sun, and keeping cats and dogs had its own leisurely, pastoral charm.
Ye Susheng sat by the bed and carefully studied the two photos in her hands under the light. In the photos, the two of them were intimately close, and deep love flowed from their eyes. They really did look perfectly matched.
Ye Susheng stared at the photos in a daze. Only when she noticed the photos in her hands growing blurry did she snap back to herself and quietly wipe away the blood-red tears that had fallen onto them.
Was she really going to marry Hua Hua? Why did this happiness feel as if it were floating up in the clouds, too unreal to touch the ground?
