Ye Susheng (Su Sheng) refused to believe the long-worm Anomaly’s explanation; she could not accept the explanation for Hua Hua’s death.

Su Sheng strangled the long-worm Anomaly completely.

“Hua Hua, Hua Hua… Where is Hua Hua… Hua Hua!” Su Sheng’s hysterical voice carried a mental pressure that even the usual Anomalies could not withstand.

The Anomaly that was teaching the players in the classroom was crushed by this powerful mental force. It crouched under the podium with its head in its arms, letting out cries of pain. Its limbs were about to undergo psychic transformation, and in terror, it quickly pulled its exposed tentacles back and stuffed them into its mouth to eat.

Before the players break the rules, Anomalies cannot transform at will; otherwise, they will violate the rules and be erased by the instance system. This rule does not restrict Su Sheng.

Hearing Su Sheng’s cries, Hua Suihe anxiously stood up. “I really can’t stay here for class.”

Yi Shuang also heard Su Sheng’s call. To be honest, the voice was so desperate that it was hard to tell it was Su Sheng’s.

But if Hua Suihe didn’t show up soon, once she found this place, Su Sheng, in her extreme frenzy, might really break free from the rules and kill all the players.

The others, afraid the teacher would call on them to check their learning, didn’t dare lose focus for a moment.

The inexplicable screams from downstairs in the teaching building made them even more terrified.

Yi Shuang took advantage of the teacher not daring to show herself, walked over, and opened the classroom door. The teacher’s mental state was disordered, so the door wasn’t forcibly locked.

Hua Suihe scrambled out from her seat.

Yi Shuang was even more anxious, directly pushing her out the door, closing it behind her, and returning to her seat.

You couldn’t move around during class.

Hua Suihe was fearless in her ignorance, but Yi Shuang was tense inside, needing to avoid the teacher’s gaze.

Her action startled the students in the back row, one of whom was Yi Shuang’s roommate and a new player. It was her first class, and her nerves were so taut that even the teacher’s words sounded like buzzing; she hadn’t noticed anything happening outside the window.

So when she suddenly saw Yi Shuang push someone out of the classroom, she broke out in a cold sweat.

She quietly questioned Yi Shuang, “Why did you push her out of the classroom? If she leaves early, she’ll die!”

Yi Shuang replied casually, “If she doesn’t go out, I’ll die.”

This made the girl behind her turn pale and immediately shut her mouth, looking at Yi Shuang with fear.

She hadn’t expected Yi Shuang to be that kind of person, willing to endanger others’ lives. In this terrifying instance where it’s either death or survival, who could be trusted?

After Hua Suihe was pushed out of the classroom, the screams outside did indeed stop.

Because as soon as Hua Suihe went out, she leaned over the corridor railing to look down, just about to call out to the panicked Su Sheng, when a pair of arms wrapped around her waist.

Hua Suihe looked up in confusion, not understanding how she had instantly moved from the third floor to the first.

Black mist cocooned Su Sheng and Hua Suihe; Su Sheng wrapped her arms around Hua Suihe from behind, almost hanging onto her.

“Hua Hua, Hua Hua… I couldn’t find you, I almost couldn’t find you…” Her voice was choked, breathing against Hua Suihe’s neck like someone dying, drawing in the last nourishment.

“Hua Hua, don’t abandon me, Hua Hua…” She sobbed, the red in her eyes refusing to fade for a while, her hair somehow disheveled, loose strands flying in the wind.

Hua Suihe’s warm palm gently stroked her cold hair, smoothing out the messy strands. Her cheek rubbed against Su Sheng’s head to comfort her.

As Hua Suihe smoothed Su Sheng’s hair, she realized how astonishing its ankle-length was. The silver hair lay obediently in her palm, and she couldn’t help but love it, patiently soothing her, “Hua Hua hasn’t abandoned Su Sheng, and never will.”

In the corner where Hua Suihe couldn’t see, Su Sheng’s bloody tears turned clear. She wiped her tears on Hua Suihe’s shoulder, her voice muffled, “I want Hua Hua to hold me, I want Hua Hua to touch me…”
Hua Suihe (Hua Hua) slid her fingers through Su Sheng’s (Ye Susheng) hair, her hand coming to rest at the nape of her neck, and, just as she suspected, felt an unusual feverish heat.

“Let Hua Hua touch…” Su Sheng nuzzled against her, nearly draping her entire body onto Hua Hua just to recover a sense of lost security.

The black mist cocooned them, ensuring no one could disturb them no matter what.

Su Sheng wiped away the tears from her face and sought Hua Hua’s lips.

Hua Hua indulged her, shifting from passive to active-her lips and tongue intertwined with Su Sheng’s, one hand supporting her back, the other gently massaging her neck, trying to help soothe her symptoms.

Su Sheng clung to her greedily, holding the softness in her arms as tightly as she could. The kiss grew headier and more intoxicating with each moment; even becoming one wasn’t enough. The black mist, a manifestation of Su Sheng’s will, wrapped around Hua Hua in circles, rising from her ankles, creeping under the hem of her dress…

Su Sheng opened her eyes, dazed, a flicker of confused light in them. The black mist sent waves of excitement back to her true self, making her heartbeat spiral out of control.

What was that-so soft, so warm.

Did she have this too? She had never examined her own body closely.

Hua Hua, breath ragged, gently pushed Su Sheng away. Her bright eyes lingered on Su Sheng, then dropped to the hands still resting on her back.

Why did it feel…

Shy, Hua Hua averted her gaze. How could she have such an illusion? Su Sheng knew nothing about these things-how could she, right here, be hiking up Hua Hua’s dress and fumbling about? Maybe it was just the wind; after all, the slit in this qipao was at the thigh.

Hua Hua mumbled, “Alright, that’s enough…”

Her body temperature had returned to normal, her mood steady once more.

Overhead, clouds began to gather, as if it might rain.

Hua Hua pinched Su Sheng’s ear, signaling her to let go. “We can’t be all lovey-dovey here. Class is almost over; people will see us soon.”

The black mist still shrouded them, making their little world airtight and invisible-no one could see them. At worst, they could just kill anyone who saw.

But it seemed Hua Hua was tired of such embraces and simply found an excuse. To avoid making Hua Hua uncomfortable, Su Sheng reluctantly let go.

She had just checked-there really were no more Plague Worms on Hua Hua.

Under Su Sheng’s burning gaze, Hua Hua crouched down to pick up the white jade hairpin that had fallen to the ground.

Its pendant had already shattered, leaving only the long section of white jade carved like bamboo.

Hua Hua took out a handkerchief and carefully wiped it. “Let me put your hair up, or it’ll sweep the floor when you walk down the stairs.”

Su Sheng obediently turned around and squatted a little; her hair was already gathered in Hua Hua’s palm.

Hua Hua struggled with her own hair, but doing someone else’s was easy.

She wound the hair a few times to shorten its length, then secured it with the hairpin.

There was still enough left to cover Su Sheng’s thigh, so Hua Hua braided it into a long plait, using the hair tie she kept around her own wrist for emergencies.

Finally, the braid was draped over Su Sheng’s shoulder to the front, restoring her to her usual elegant and graceful appearance.

Hand in hand, Su Sheng and Hua Hua left the teaching building.

“Hua Hua, why didn’t you wait for me just now?”

“I got distracted and went to listen in on a college class.”

“Then how did you know I was looking for you?”

“You called for me-I heard you~”

“Hua Hua…” Su Sheng’s steps faltered. “Hua Hua…”

“I was so anxious just now, I actually learned Ye’s Flash,” Hua Hua said, tilting her head playfully before sighing with regret. “Too bad I don’t know how to trigger it. If there’s a next time… Well, I hope there isn’t. It felt a bit unreal.”

Su Sheng echoed softly, “Mm, there won’t be a next time.”
