Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 36
Hua Suihe was surprised by Chai Chai’s invitation and refused decisively: “It’s inconvenient, I’m not going.”
Ye Susheng and Hua Suihe left the quiet teaching building area hand in hand.
This was Hua Suihe’s last day of class, and also the last day for the other players to remain here.
But now, they were facing a silent massacre.
A small monthly exam was being held in the classroom, with a comprehensive test paper covering all subjects.
After the exam, the teacher checked the papers on the spot-wrong answers meant death; overtime meant death as well.
In the end, only ten people successfully left the Free School instance.
When the points were distributed, everyone looked up and saw that the newcomer leaderboard’s first place, Huasheng, was far ahead. Instances experienced: 2; total points: 11,000. Looking further down, the second place only had 3,000 points.
[What the hell, wasn’t she already dead? Didn’t she leave class early? How did she get 7,000 points in this instance?!]
[You can check the points details: survived for thirty days, clearance points 3,000; received unanimous praise from classmates while serving as a teacher in the youth class, extra reward 4,000 points.]
[…Is this for real? How could anyone survive as a teacher in the youth class!]
[Passing by as someone killed by the evil kids in the youth class-thankfully had a Revival Card. Life’s tough.]
[Can’t find Huasheng’s account on the horror forum. Has anyone seen her livestream?]
[Haven’t seen it.]
[Haven’t seen it +1.]
[Seems like I’ve never come across her livestream room.]
“Hua Hua~”
“Hmm?”
“Hua Hua Hua Hua~” Ye Susheng was in a great mood because Hua Hua had refused the Anomaly’s invitation. Only someone who truly disliked Anomalies would turn down an invitation from one.
So Ye Susheng was so happy, she didn’t even bother to mind the clown Anomaly’s presumptuous invitation to Hua Hua.
“Actually, after living at the school for a month, I’ve kind of gotten used to it.” Hua Suihe thought of the little wooden house nestled in the forest on the outskirts of the city. Once she went back, she’d have to use a luminous pearl as a lamp again.
“Ye, if I get the chance, I’ll work hard to earn money and buy a house in the city. Then, we can…” Hua Suihe paused, thinking deeply. It seemed Ye Susheng couldn’t move house.
Unless Ye Susheng’s Spawn Point was changed to the new house, buying one would mean they’d end up living apart.
Ye Susheng couldn’t bear to see her frowning, so she leaned in and kissed her lips. “I’ll give all my savings to Hua Hua, so she can buy a house.”
When Hua Suihe had no money, she used Ye Susheng’s money. Now that her salary had come in, it still wasn’t much, so she’d still have to keep using Ye Susheng’s money.
Hua Suihe shook her head in frustration, but quickly recovered her fighting spirit. “I’ll find another job and work hard to make money!”
Whether or not she bought a house was another matter; making money was what really mattered.
It was only when Hua Suihe started packing her things that she realized how much she had. She couldn’t imagine how Ye Susheng had managed to carry all of this over.
After two hours, they’d packed three large bags. If she and Ye Susheng moved them together, they’d probably have to go back and forth three times.
Ye Susheng told Hua Hua to sit and rest. “I’ll go find some neighbors to help us move.”
Hua Suihe had lived here for a month and had never seen any neighbors, except for the sister upstairs that one night. That was the only time they met. After that conversation, she never heard any more noises disturbing her sleep.
Hua Hua slumped against the back of the chair to rest. After five minutes, Ye Susheng returned with three neighbors. “Hua Hua, I found people to help!”
“Sis, just tell us what you need moved!”
Hua Suihe immediately sat up straight, staring in disbelief at the unfamiliar faces of the three strong helpers.
“Just these three small bags, right? We’ll help you carry them downstairs.”
Hua Suihe stood up, looking confused as she replied, “Yes, that’s right…”
The three strong men each hoisted a bag onto their shoulders and walked out the door with ease, their movements swift and efficient.
“Wait… where did you find these neighbors?”
“They’re residents from downstairs. They work from dawn to dusk, so Hua Hua hasn’t met them before,” Ye Susheng said, satisfied as she glanced around the now empty and tidy dorm room. “It just so happens they’re off today, hehe~”
“Mm, that’s really lucky.” Hua Suihe exclaimed, “Let’s hurry and catch up, I don’t know where they’ll move the bags to.”
“Alright.”
After making sure nothing was left behind, they closed the door. There would be no chance to return again.
They waited downstairs for the little green truck, loaded everything onto it, and drove to the school gate. The kind helpers even helped them load the bags onto the bus before saying goodbye.
After a half-hour bus ride, familiar mist blurred the windows. When the view outside finally cleared, they saw a small wooden house nestled alone among lush greenery.
Home.
The driver was kind too. Though not talkative, he helped carry their things into the house.
“Hua Hua, are you hungry? I’ll make you something to eat first.”
Hua Suihe squatted beside the three big bags, looked up at the time-it was already past five in the afternoon, just about time for dinner.
“Then I’ll trouble Ye to make dinner first. I’ll tidy up here.”
Ye Susheng didn’t want her to do any work and tried to persuade her to rest. “Hua Hua, you’ve already had a tiring day. Let me handle it.”
Hua Suihe stood up and pushed her out the door. “So hungry, so hungry! Ye, hurry and make dinner!”
By the time Ye Susheng called Hua Suihe to eat, she had already tidied up most of the room.
Pineapple pork ribs, potato pan-fried beef, braised prawns in oil, mushrooms stir-fried with broccoli.
It was a feast. Hua Suihe never questioned where these ingredients came from; she just focused on eating her fill.
After a month of training, Ye Susheng had gotten used to eating with Hua Suihe. Whatever Hua Hua ate, she ate too.
Although she still didn’t find human food tasty, seeing Hua Hua eat with such relish made her feel satisfied.
Hua Suihe chewed and sighed, “Delicious.”
Ye Susheng nodded and echoed, “Delicious.”
Hua Suihe suddenly asked, “How many days off do you get, Ye Susheng?”
“Three days.”
Tomorrow morning, she still had to go to the Yu Sheng Troupe to assign tasks to the players. Ye Susheng stared at Hua Suihe for a long moment, her eyes dim, weighed down by her thoughts.
Last time, she tried not to assign Hua Suihe any tasks, hoping she wouldn’t enter the instance, so she made her fall asleep in the car.
But unexpectedly, after she finished assigning tasks to all the players in the Yu Sheng Troupe, the horror system determined she had missed a player, so she couldn’t clock out. She had to stay at the task handover penalty station until Hua Suihe herself walked into the troupe to meet her.
So this time, she would probably face the same problem.
However, the forced formatting in the library had failed, and Ye Susheng’s strength had increased.
So now, she could assign tasks to Hua Suihe according to her own will.
Ye Susheng put down her chopsticks, her eyes shining, her tone excited and hopeful: “Hua Hua, tomorrow morning at eight, can you come to the Yu Sheng Troupe to pick me up after work?”
“You have to assign tasks to the players tomorrow morning?” Hua Suihe agreed casually, “Sure, I’ll wait for you there and pick you up after work. We can go shopping afterward.”
“Hua Hua is so sweet~” She leaned in, wanting to kiss Hua Hua, but her face was mercilessly pushed away.
And Hua Hua’s disdainful tone: “No, your mouth is all greasy.”
