Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 37
Night had fallen.
Hua Suihe stood in the unlit corridor, holding a flashlight.
She remembered it was because the upstairs neighbors were too noisy. She couldn’t sleep, so she came up to remind the residents not to disturb others excessively at night.
Hua Suihe raised her hand and knocked on the door, but no one answered. The sound of bones being chopped did not pause for a moment.
The door was easily pushed open. Inside, it was pitch-black with no lights on.
She shone her flashlight inside and saw a woman in white busy at work. Hua Suihe called to her several times, but the woman completely ignored her.
As if compelled by some unseen force, Hua Suihe walked inside. The beam of the flashlight fell onto the cutting board, and she saw clearly what was being chopped: a whole human thigh.
Beside the cutting board lay a bloody male head.
Hua Suihe screamed in terror on the spot, dropping the flashlight to the ground. In the wavering beam, the woman in white turned to look at her, brushing aside the long hair that covered half her face. Blood was smeared over half her pallid face-ghastly and gory.
“Ah!!”
Hua Suihe turned and bolted for the door. She saw daylight outside-if she left this dormitory, if she got out of here, she’d be safe.
Someone grabbed her wrist. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t break free.
“Hua Hua, what are you running from?”
It was Su Sheng’s voice. Tears immediately welled up in Hua Suihe’s eyes. She turned and threw herself into her arms. “Su Sheng, I saw someone kill a person! I saw…”
“What are you talking about, Hua Hua?” Su Sheng grabbed her shoulders and pushed her out of her embrace. “Didn’t you come here specifically to find me?”
Hua Suihe looked up at her. The person before her transformed into an unfamiliar girl. Looking around at the surroundings, she saw the room was filled with bookshelves-it was the school library.
“Didn’t you want to ask me why I’ve stayed in the library for five years without leaving? I can tell you the reason, Hua Hua.” The unfamiliar girl clutched Hua Suihe’s shoulders, as if she wished to dig all ten fingers into her shoulder blades.
A strange face, a cold, mocking gaze, yet calling her Hua Hua so familiarly-it was all a jarring contradiction.
“The world will reorganize its order. The world will change its rules. Before everyone is assimilated, I will stay here forever, Hua Hua, I will stay here forever.”
“Until the horror fully descends!”
“Hua Hua, stay with me. Stay with me…”
Sensing something, Hua Suihe looked up. The entire bookshelf came crashing down, about to crush her-piles of books forming a mountain for her grave.
Sunlight sneaked in through the wooden window into the little cabin, quietly crawling onto the girl’s bed, casting a gentle golden glow on her romantic pink hair.
Her slender, beautiful fingers were tightly clutching the ear of a pink pig plush toy. The sunlight lay across her eyelids, as if trying to wake the girl trapped in her nightmare.
When Hua Suihe opened her eyes, her mind was still foggy. She couldn’t tell if it was still a dream or reality.
She’d had a long nightmare. The last time she’d had such a terrifying dream was a month ago. She couldn’t remember that one clearly, but this time, every detail of the dream lingered in her mind.
She rolled over and buried her face in the pillow, groaning-how could she dream of her school in such a terrifying way? Thankfully, she’d already left. If she’d had this dream while still at school, she’d probably be on edge all day, seeing things everywhere.
She stayed in bed for a while longer before remembering today’s task. She got up and tidied herself, shouldered her Energetic Long-eared Bunny backpack, packed in her thirty thousand yuan in cash, and happily set out.
The bus always arrived right on time. Hua Suihe got on, stuffed two yuan in cash into the box, and took a seat at the back of the bus.
She didn’t know how much time had passed before, finally, the bus stopped in front of the Yu Sheng Troupe.
Hua Suihe said goodbye to the driver before getting off the bus. She had realized this route was so unpopular that she had never seen another passenger board, so even if the driver wasn’t talkative, she would always exchange a few words with him.
Carrying too much cash was truly a burden. She hefted the strap on her shoulder, then stepped into the doors of the Yu Sheng Troupe-the theater’s screen was dark.
As soon as she entered, she spotted the ever-diligent Ye Susheng at her post; aside from herself, the entire lobby was empty.
Ye Susheng’s formerly straight hair was now curled, and on her head sat a hat adorned with roses and a gently swaying black feather. She wore a gothic-style evening gown in black and red, the enormous crinoline puffing up layers of skirt like tiers of cake.
Standing perfectly upright, she looked like a human figurine-absolutely beautiful.
Hua Suihe knew that Ye Susheng changed into a beautiful new dress every day. Since they were going shopping together today, Hua Suihe had also put on a sexy white-and-blue gradient mermaid dress with spaghetti straps, and wore matching high heels for the occasion.
After a month at school, Ye Susheng’s more casual daily outfits had almost made Hua Suihe forget just how effortlessly stunning she was; no amount of effort could match her natural talent. The two of them seemed to exist on completely different levels.
Noticing Hua Hua’s gaze lingering on her, Ye Susheng shyly cupped her own face, composed herself, and called Hua Suihe over: “Player, Hua Suihe. The new instance-Rose Manor-is about to begin. Game time: four days.”
“Hua Hua, my job in the manor will be as a housekeeper. Can you help me put on my gloves every day?” Ye Susheng held out her hands-she was wearing long, black lace gloves that reached her elbows.
Hua Suihe’s eyes lit up. She took Ye Susheng’s hands, squeezing her gloved fingers. The lace felt cool and silky, making it hard to let go.
Ye Susheng could see the sparkle in her eyes-a sure sign she liked the gloves. “Do you like them, Hua Hua? I can clock out now and take them off for you to wear.”
She started to remove the gloves as she spoke.
Hua Suihe stopped her. “No need! I like seeing you wear them-you look sexy and elegant.”
No wonder Hua Suihe could be so smitten with Ye Susheng in this game. At 1.8 meters tall, Ye Susheng’s graceful figure made any outfit look noble and elegant. Yet her personality was so sweet, like a clingy little puppy.
Hua Suihe cupped her face and gave her cheeks a little squeeze. With her natural beauty and smooth, delicate skin, she didn’t even need foundation-just a bit of color makeup and she would look stunning.
Hua Suihe was 1.7 meters tall herself, but facing Ye Susheng in heels, she could only cup Ye Susheng’s face and gesture for her to lower her head in order to kiss her chin.
With a smack, Hua Suihe sighed in satisfaction, “Wife, you really do live right in my heart. Without you, who else could I possibly love?”
Falling for Ye Susheng was simply the easiest thing in the world.
Ye Susheng’s cheeks instantly turned red at the confession, stars twinkling in her eyes as she stared at Hua Suihe with burning passion. Unable to restrain herself, she hugged Hua Suihe, nestled her head in the crook of her neck, and said in a tender tone, “Hua Hua loves me, Hua Hua loves me so much~”
Hua Suihe chuckled softly and, for the first time, corrected her, “It’s you who loves Hua Hua. Ye Susheng loves Hua Hua so much.”
Ye Susheng repeated her words, “I love Hua Hua, I love Hua Hua so much!”
“I love Hua Hua…”
Sensing Ye Susheng’s intention to give her a hickey, Hua Suihe quickly stopped her.
“Don’t mess around, I’m wearing a camisole, and we still have to go shopping.”
Ye Susheng, unsatisfied, ground her teeth quietly, trying to suppress her overwhelming appetite.
“Hua Hua, I want to eat beef jerky.”
