My Aloof Heartthrob Stalks Me Every Day - Chapter 2
S seemed to notice that I had been distracted lately.
“You’ve been sighing all the time. Did something make you unhappy, baby?”
He had offered me advice whenever I ran into trouble before. After some thought, I decided to tell him.
“I’m pursuing someone.”
My phone immediately exploded with messages, vibrating nonstop.
“Pursuing someone?!!!”
“Why don’t I know about this? You’re lying to me, aren’t you?”
“How can there be room for anyone else in your eyes? What’s that bastard’s name?”
“He must have used some dirty trick to seduce you. Bastard! Bastard! Bastard!”
I had not expected such a huge reaction.
He was probably worried that someone would take advantage of me.
“Don’t talk about him like that,” I explained. “He’s a wonderful, accomplished person. Lots of people pursue him.”
“It’s an act! That bastard is definitely pretending! You’re too innocent, baby. That’s why he managed to fool you!”
“Tell me his name!”
I hesitated, but in the end, I sent him Shen Zechuan’s name.
“His name is Shen Zechuan. He’s an upperclassman at A University and really famous there. He usually seems aloof, but he’s genuinely a good person.”
S, who had been darkly ranting and nearly deranged with jealousy, suddenly went quiet.
He remained silent for an unusually long time. Then his manner abruptly turned reserved.
“When did you start pursuing him?”
Another silence. Then he adopted the solemn tone of someone dispensing hard-earned wisdom.
“You really are a little baby. You don’t even know how to chase someone.”
“It’s all right. I’ll teach you. Do exactly what I say, and you’ll definitely win him over.”
Five minutes later, I stared at his suggestions—stalking, spying, bondage, coercion…
I sank into thought.
Was my dream guy really into all that?
S told me to begin by sneaking into Shen Zechuan’s home and studying his preferences.
“But I don’t know where he lives.”
S: “Building 4, Unit 3, Apartment 301, Longhu Apartments.”
“But I don’t have a key.”
“There’s one under the mat outside his door.”
“But I don’t know his schedule. What if I go there and he happens to be home?”
“Except on weekends, he jogs in the nearby park for half an hour at six every morning. He goes out after breakfast and doesn’t return until after seven in the evening.”
“But I…”
“Go on, baby. None of these are problems.”
“I’m just wondering how you know so much about him.”
“I’m a hacker. I can look up his information.”
I had no reason to doubt that. He had investigated me thoroughly too.
And so, after S’s relentless coaxing, I found myself hiding in Shen Zechuan’s wardrobe an hour later.
Why was I hiding?
Because Shen Zechuan had come home early.
His wardrobe was filled with a cool, masculine scent. I curled myself into a tiny ball.
“You liar!” I accused S. “Your information isn’t reliable at all. Shen Zechuan came back early!”
S enjoyed being scolded far too much.
“Ahh, even the way baby curses at me is adorable. I only told you his usual routine. I can’t guarantee his plans never change.”
My face crumpled.
I had the worst luck.
The very first time I did something like this, the owner had caught me in his territory. If Shen Zechuan discovered me, he would surely hate me. Then I would never complete my mission.
He had already entered the bedroom.
Through a crack in the wardrobe, I saw him holding his phone as if he were typing.
S: “Where are you hiding?”
I carefully typed back, “In his wardrobe. I hope he doesn’t find me.”
Perhaps guilt was making me paranoid, but I had the vague feeling that the man beside the bed glanced in my direction.
Soon, however, he went into the bathroom.
I breathed a sigh of relief. Through the narrow space inside the wardrobe, I spotted a familiar scarf. It looked very much like one I had bought before.
I blinked, delighted.
So Shen Zechuan and I did share a preference!
Water began running in the bathroom. He was probably taking a shower.
I crept out of the wardrobe and prepared to slip away.
Just then—
Buzz—
The phone Shen Zechuan had left on the bed began to ring.
It wasn’t loud, but in the quiet bedroom, the sound seemed piercingly clear.
The water stopped.
The next second, someone turned the bathroom doorknob.
Shen Zechuan was coming out!
Panic swallowed me whole.
At the last possible instant, I made a decisive dive under the bed.
