My Creditor Is So Easy to Coax - Chapter 3
It was another night that was anything but calm.
When I woke up.
Young Mr. Bo had fallen into utter despair.
He lay on his back staring at the ceiling, both hands clutching the edge of the blanket. His voice was hoarse from crying and shouting all night. “Qin…”
“Qin Lang,” I supplied at once.
His eyelashes trembled.
He closed his eyes and cursed me bitterly. “Bastard! Animal! Scum!”
I was completely innocent. “You were the one who came to my room last night bearing gifts and invited me inside…”
“Shut up!”
Young Mr. Bo’s face was full of humiliation and rage. “What happened last night…”
“I’m not allowed to tell anyone. I know.”
He hesitated. “If anyone asks…”
“I’ll say President Bo was very fierce last night.”
The young master finally smiled. “At least you’re smart.”
My brother had been out of contact lately.
I was very worried about him.
He was the one who had incurred this romantic debt. I couldn’t keep paying it off for him forever.
Did he really think the young master was easy to handle?
He was unbelievably delicate and cried at the slightest touch.
At first, he cursed while he cried.
Later, he cried while he cursed:
“Worn out already? Weren’t you acting tough just now?”
“Bastard! Kill me if you’ve got the nerve!”
“Who said you could bite me? Are you a dog?”
“Why are you gripping me so hard? Are you trying to die? You’re going to snap my waist in half!”
Tsk.
So fussy.
I seemed to have discovered Butler Wang’s secret.
He was hiding in a corner of the garden making a phone call. His usually stern, old-fashioned tone now sounded full of wounded resentment:
“How long are you going to keep avoiding me?”
“You had your way with me, and now you don’t want to take responsibility—is that it? Are you even a man?!”
What? The unsmiling Butler Wang had been dumped.
And the person who dumped him was another man.
How thrilling.
I kept eavesdropping from around the corner:
“I don’t want money! What do you take me for, a rent boy?”
“I want you to take responsibility for me.”
I had no idea what the person on the other end said, but Butler Wang suddenly grew agitated:
“That night in bed, it was ‘baby,’ and now I’m Wang Fugui…”
“Fine.” He sneered. “Then don’t blame me for using my position to settle a personal grudge!”
When I saw him hang up, I turned away in disappointment.
Why was it so short?
I hadn’t heard nearly enough.
I had barely warmed my seat in the living room when Butler Wang barged in, his expression ugly:
“Go sweep the courtyard.”
I looked around, then pointed at myself in confusion. “Me??”
“Yes, you. Young Master brought you here to pay a debt, not to lounge around putting on airs.”
With that, a broom came flying at me.
“If there’s so much as one fallen leaf left in the courtyard, forget about dinner!”
“…”
Goddamn Wang Fugui.
So when he said he’d use his position to settle a personal grudge, he meant he’d take it all out on me?
The Bo family courtyard was half the size of a soccer field.
I swept from noon until dusk.
My waist felt ready to break.
Fuming, I decided that if Bo Shi came looking for me again tonight, I would flat-out refuse to work.
My back hurt, after all.
If that wasn’t good enough, the young master could move on his own.
At dinner, Bo Shi sent Butler Wang upstairs to call me.
The sight of Wang Fugui’s face made my back ache. I snapped irritably, “I’m not eating! Get lost!”
Butler Wang turned and left.
Soon, his voice floated up from the first floor. “Young Master, Mr. Qin refuses to eat. He… He also told you to get lost…”
Me: “…”
Getting someone else to do your dirty work, huh?
That goddamn bastard.
I slammed the door and stormed back into my room, then messaged my buddy and asked him to get online.
He replied almost instantly.
[Just a minute, bro.]
[The dog at home is throwing a tantrum and refusing to eat. I need to feed the puppy first.]
I replied [Okay], though I was a little puzzled. Since when did his family have a dog? Why had he never mentioned it before?
As I was wondering.
There was a sudden knock on my door.
Bo Shi’s lazy voice came through. “Qin Lang, come out and eat.”
I opened the door reluctantly.
I was in a bad mood, and Bo Shi got the same sour face as everyone else.
“Not eating.”
“Why?”
“My legs hurt. My hands, too.” I showed him my red, chafed palms. “I don’t have the strength to eat.”
After a pause.
I pointed at Wang Fugui standing in the doorway. “I want him to feed me.”
Bo Shi raised an eyebrow. “Feed him.”
Butler Wang: “…Yes, Young Master.”
He was a professional butler, all right. He adjusted immediately, picked up a piece of fried chicken from the table, and held it out to me:
“Young Master Qin, eat.”
“Young Master Qin, please have some food.”
When I continued refusing to open my mouth, Butler Wang’s eyelid twitched. “Young Master Qin, I’m begging you. Please take a bite.”
That was more like it.
I reluctantly took a bite.
My lips accidentally brushed his finger.
Bo Shi immediately startled like a spooked bird. “Wang Fugui, how dare you seduce him?”
Butler Wang looked bewildered. “Huh? Me?”
“Get out!”
“Yes, Young Master…” Butler Wang practically crawled out of the room.
After a brief silence.
“Your back hurts?”
“Yes.”
“Can it still move?” Bo Shi glanced below my waist.
“I don’t have an ounce of strength left.” I slumped against the sofa and gave up all pretense. “Haven’t you always wanted to avenge your humiliation, Young Mr. Bo? I’m too weak to resist tonight. You can do whatever you want.”
Bo Shi sneered.
“You’re the one here to pay a debt.”
“You expect this young master to do all the work for you? Dream on.”
