My Creditor Is So Easy to Coax - Chapter 2
Once the storm had passed.
Bo Shi lay flat on the bed like a corpse, looking as if he had lost all desire to live.
“What happened today…” He glared at me. “You’re not allowed to tell anyone.”
“Yes, President Bo.”
“Don’t call me President Bo.”
“Yes, wifey.”
“You…” Bo Shi’s face reddened with fury. He lifted a foot to kick me, but perhaps afraid I might enjoy it, silently lowered his leg again.
“Get out!”
“You got it!”
The moment I stepped outside, my phone vibrated several times in succession.
One message was from my dad: [Son, we’re living under someone else’s roof now. You absolutely have to behave.]
Thinking about how Bo Shi had looked mortified enough to die but still obediently done as he was told, I typed back:
[Don’t worry, Dad. Very obedient.]
The second message was from the gaming buddy I’d known for six months:
[Boohoo, bro, my honor is ruined.]
[The guy who did me back then ran away.]
[His little brother looked like an easy mark, so I thought I’d mess with him to vent, but then…]
My interest was instantly piqued.
[Then what happened?]
He was silent for quite a while.
Despair practically flooded out of the screen. [His little brother went even harder on me, boohoo.]
My appetite for gossip burst into flame.
Then something suddenly felt off.
The older brother who had run away, me—the supposed easy mark—and him getting done…
A chill ran down my back.
No way. Could the gaming buddy I’d played with for six months actually be Bo Shi?
I wanted to test him, but I didn’t want to be too direct, so I could only ask in a roundabout way:
[How was he? Did his little brother have two defining traits: super long and long-lasting?]
The person on the other end was confused. [Isn’t that only one trait?]
[…Got it.]
[I guess it counts.]
The heart I’d been holding in suspense finally dropped dead.
He had both traits and was that impressive. It had to be me.
The thought that I’d done the gaming buddy I’d known for six months filled me with an inexplicable guilt.
After the chat ended, I curled up on the sofa and used what little memory I had left to reconstruct events:
Six months ago, I had lost my memory in an accident.
Also six months ago, my brother had audaciously done Young Mr. Bo—and gotten caught.
As luck would have it, my dad then went bankrupt and owed the Bo family money.
And my good-for-nothing brother happened to run away, so I was sent here to settle the debt.
Then…
Young Mr. Bo got done by me again.
That evening, my gaming buddy invited me at our usual time:
[Bro, get online!]
I turned on the computer in my room.
And expertly activated my voice changer.
As always, he stuck close behind me like a little tail, diligently topping up my health and waiting to be carried to victory.
[Bro, you’re amazing!]
[The way you one-shotted that guy just now was so cool!]
[I knew you’d protect me, bro.]
[Bro, I picked up tons of gear. You can have all of it…]
My guilt grew unbearable as I listened.
When he charged forward like a fool to shield me from damage for the fifth time.
I couldn’t take it anymore. I dropped the mouse at once, rushed to the fourth floor, and pounded frantically on the door.
“Bo Shi, open up! I need to talk to you!”
The room was silent.
I kept knocking. Bo Shi didn’t appear, but I did manage to draw Butler Wang up from downstairs.
“Are you crazy?” He hurried over.
“I need to see Bo Shi about something.”
“Young Master is in a meeting. He doesn’t have time.”
I froze. “Bo Shi went to a meeting? Are you sure?”
“Obviously.” Butler Wang dragged me downstairs as he reminded me irritably, “Didn’t I tell you? You’re only allowed on the third floor.”
“Who said you could come up here on your own?”
“Young Master has a company meeting every night at eight. He can’t be disturbed. Whatever it is, wait until he comes back.”
I answered blankly, “It’s… It’s nothing.”
Around eight every evening was also when my buddy and I usually teamed up.
Seen that way.
Maybe it really wasn’t Bo Shi.
When I returned to my room, a pile of new messages had appeared in the game chat:
[Bro, where’d you go?]
[Did you disconnect? Our teammates insulted you just now, so I took all three of them on and cussed them out!]
[They tried to steal our gear, but I yelled until they ran off.]
[Bro, you’re still not back…]
[I’m logging off, then. See you tomorrow.]
His icon had already gone dark.
I shut down my computer and got into bed, but I wasn’t sleepy. Before long, I faintly heard voices downstairs.
Bo Shi was back.
Soon.
Someone knocked on my door.
“Good evening, Young Mr. Bo.” I leaned against the door with a smile that didn’t reach my eyes.
Bo Shi said nothing.
The faint scent of alcohol lingered on his breath.
“Inside,” he said.
My eyelid twitched. “Young Mr. Bo, is this… some kind of invitation?”
He really couldn’t take any teasing. His face flushed in an instant, and he shoved me hard into the room.
Then he locked the door again.
I was very scared.
“Young Mr. Bo,” I asked in a low voice, unable to stop myself from trembling slightly, “is this room… well soundproofed?”
Bo Shi sneered.
“Of course.”
“Every room here has been soundproofed.”
“No one will come to save you, even if you scream yourself hoarse.”
I breathed a sigh of relief. “Good.”
And then.
With a few quick moves, I tied him to the headboard.
“Now I can pay off the debt to my heart’s content.”
Young Mr. Bo, bound to the bed: “??!”
