Pathological Heart Lock - Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Since none of us could wear the white lab coats, the three of us wandered aimlessly through the hospital, searching for clues.
As we approached the office building, a middle-aged doctor NPC waved at us, his voice urgent. “Hey! The meeting is about to start. You three, get over here now!”
The three of us exchanged glances.
…Even people pretending to be doctors had to attend meetings?
Still, this was a prime opportunity to find clues.
After a moment’s hesitation, we followed them.
But the instant I stepped into the office building, my vision went black, and I lost consciousness.
I could only vaguely hear someone cackling. “These three have healthy bodies. If we send them to Professor Shen, we’ll definitely make a fortune! Heh heh!”
Hearing that, only two words flashed through my mind: I’m screwed.
The map had changed again.
I found myself in a dark basement. My two teammates and I were tied up tightly, gagged, and unable to move.
There were several other humanoid ghost NPCs in the basement as well. They had likely been snatched from the hospital to be delivered to this “Professor Shen.”
What did he want with so many ghosts?
I was completely baffled.
Before long, the heavy iron door of the basement creaked open.
A few people dressed in full-body hazmat suits walked in and began selecting from among us.
Unsurprisingly, they ultimately chose me, along with a ghost NPC in the basement who was missing half its head.
Before I was dragged away, my two teammates cast sympathetic looks my way again.
She’s so pitiful, so miserable. How does she always end up separated from the group? Is there really someone in this world who is this incredibly unlucky?
Let’s just hope she stays safe.
