Senior Brother's Little Menace - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Senior Brother always looked half-dead.
I was so worried that I went to find my good beast friend.
The other party was sprawled across an elder’s seat, a long, slender pipe held between his fleshy paws. He took an unhurried drag, then slowly blew the smoke right into my face.
“Heibao, what are you fretting about? If something’s wrong, tell Uncle. Uncle has plenty of tricks.”
I secretly glanced at the spotted pattern on the old Golden Leopard’s body and didn’t dare ask if those “tricks” were just his spots.
In a few words, I told him about Senior Brother’s predicament.
The old Golden Leopard smacked his lips, then looked down at me from above and gave his sage advice. “He’s already ruined. Why are you still trying to live your life with him?”
The old Golden Leopard counseled me earnestly, “Heibao, Uncle only says this because I treat you like my own cub.”
“While your fur is still sleek and glossy, hurry up and find yourself another master to live with. No matter what, you could at least wrangle several doses of Longevity Pill out of it.”
But I didn’t want Longevity Pill. I just wanted Senior Brother to be able to spring up like before and flick me on the forehead.
Seeing me like this, the old Golden Leopard cursed helplessly, “You stubborn little fool!”
“Fine, fine.”
He told me there was a top-tier heavenly treasure in this world-the Lingxiao Flower-that could repair meridians.
And he remembered that there was one in the Sect Leader’s secret vault.
Whether I could get it would depend on my methods.
But what methods could a little dog like me possibly have?
I didn’t even know which way the door to the Sect Leader’s secret vault opened.
I wandered around the foot of the mountain for nearly an hour, and before I could even find the path up, someone caught me.
I was carried before the Sect Leader.
The person who brought me in laughed and said, “I just saw this dog sneaking around suspiciously at the foot of the mountain. You’d better investigate properly and see if it’s a spy from the Demon Race.”
He sounded like he was joking, but it scared me so badly I trembled all over.
The Sect Leader reached out and tapped a finger against my forehead. A flash of white light swept over me, and he laughed out loud. “You little mutt have quite the nerve. You even dared to break into my secret vault.”
With a sweep of his sleeve, he said, “But even if I had one, I couldn’t give it to you. I can, however, tell you where to find one.”
After the Sect Leader told me, he let me go.
Once I had left, the person who brought me in asked in confusion, “Even someone at the Golden Core stage would have a hard time surviving the Yuming Secret Realm. Does that dog have some kind of-”
The Sect Leader raised a hand and cut him off, deliberately smiling as he said, “I just want to see whether that little thing dares to throw its life away for its master.”
