Teasing the Twin Psychics in the Apocalypse - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
His dark gaze fell on that chain, and he pressed his lips together without saying a word.
“Lu Hanchen, when you helped fasten my Safety Distance Rope just now, I noticed your eyelashes are really long.”
I used to stick to Lu Zhou and chatter nonstop. But now I kept talking around Lu Hanchen instead, while he only occasionally nodded, shook his head, or gave a quiet “mm.”
If it weren’t for the comments, I really never would have known he was actually the cute cold-faced type.
I used to think he hated me, so I never dared get close to him.
“He looks exactly like me. When you were taking advantage of me, didn’t you notice my eyelashes?”
Lu Zhou gave a soft snort, finally speaking his first words to me since our cold war began.
Lu Hanchen’s steps faltered slightly as he looked at his younger brother.
I was surprised too that Lu Zhou had actually taken the initiative to talk to me.
[So the male lead finally couldn’t hold back and started provoking her, huh? The supporting female taking advantage of him has been the thorn stuck in his chest these past few days.]
I really was in the wrong, so I simply shut my mouth to avoid arguing with him.
Unexpectedly, Lu Zhou’s expression darkened even more.
He stared at me for a long time. After confirming I had nothing to say, he turned and walked ahead first.
“If you two had a fight, there was no need to drag me into it just to make him mad.”
Lu Hanchen’s voice sounded beside my ear. I turned my head and saw the icy look in his eyes, yet somehow I still caught a trace of grievance there.
The comments confirmed my guess.
[Dear customer, your icy green tea has arrived.]
[He thinks the supporting female only got close to him to make his little brother mad, right? The supporting male is actually the true match, but he’s being so humble about it.]
After hesitating for two seconds, I reached out and took Lu Hanchen’s hand.
He stumbled a little as he walked, and his fingers stiffened instantly. Emboldened, I slipped my hand straight into his palm.
“No. I didn’t get close to you because of Lu Zhou.”
I didn’t explain any further. I only lightly scratched his palm with my fingers, then happily watched the corner of his mouth lift by 0.3 pixels.
Turns out teasing a cute cold-faced guy was way more fun than teasing a sunny puppy.
The skin-to-skin contact at such close range made me feel giddy too.
While I was still tracing circles and doodling in Lu Hanchen’s palm, a shadow suddenly fell over me.
I jumped in shock and looked up to see the gloomy-faced Lu Zhou. I had no idea when he’d come back.
“Was taking advantage of me not enough, and now you’re taking advantage of my brother too?”
He reached out and yanked our clasped hands apart. He used so much force that the compressed biscuits in the side pocket of my backpack fell out.
Lu Hanchen also seemed not to have expected his younger brother to suddenly run back just to pull our hands apart.
He froze for a moment, and Lu Zhou’s expression turned even uglier.
“This stupid rope-today you’re tied to this person, tomorrow you’re tied to that one-”
In the next second, his words stopped completely.
I was startled when I saw a huge chunk of ice stuffed into his mouth.
“Has two years of the apocalypse made you forget how to speak properly?”
Lu Hanchen’s eyes looked as if they had been tempered in ice, and the comments exploded.
[Such powerful wife-protecting energy. Does he not feel even a little bad for his brother? The male lead’s mouth is stuffed with ice and even his eyes are red from the cold, and he still doesn’t care. What a real brother.]
[Waaah, this side couple keeps bullying the male lead. Heroine, hurry up and protect your true match!]
Hearing the commotion, Luo Qing’er really did look over.
Then…
She picked up the compressed biscuits that had fallen on the ground.
“If no one wants them, I’ll eat them.”
…
Lu Zhou seemed genuinely angered by Lu Hanchen and me. He didn’t even stay with us while collecting supplies.
It wasn’t until that night, after we returned, that I found out he was injured.
Half his arm was covered in blood, the smell of it thick in the air. His lips were slightly pale as he sat in the middle of the base and looked up at me.
Instinctively, I wanted to reach out and heal him, but then I suddenly saw Luo Qing’er coming in from outside.
Remembering that they were the true match, and that Luo Qing’er was also Healing-type, I withdrew my hand and ran to the kitchen to watch Lu Hanchen cut fruit.
There were no fresh ingredients in the apocalypse, so the so-called kitchen had nothing more than a few knives, a cutting board, and a basin.
Today, while collecting supplies, we had unexpectedly found a few apples, and Lu Hanchen was melting ice to wash them.
When I walked in, surprise flashed through his eyes.
“Aren’t you going to heal Lu Zhou?”
I shook my head.
“He’ll let Luo Qing’er help him.”
