Chapter 4

Lu Hanchen’s lips moved slightly, but in the end, he still said nothing.

After washing the apple, he cut off a piece first and held it out to me.

Looking at the slice of apple offered right in front of me, I blinked. Under his astonished gaze, I didn’t reach out to take it. Instead, I lowered my head and bit into it directly.

I didn’t control my strength well enough, and my lips seemed to brush against his fingertips. The man’s breathing hitched, and the air fell completely silent.

As I chewed on the apple, I watched Lu Hanchen’s face turn red from his neck all the way to the tips of his ears.

I was very satisfied with this official pairing. As expected of the author-she really understood my tastes.

It was just an accidental touch, and he was already this red.

I didn’t even dare imagine how red Lu Hanchen must have gotten in the next room every time I touched Lu Zhou’s abs before, with that shared sensation.

Just as I was thinking that, footsteps suddenly sounded from behind us. We turned around together and saw Lu Zhou standing there, his gaze dark and unreadable.

Blood was still dripping from half of his arm, and even his lips had gone a little pale.

“I was wondering where you’d run off to. So you were in the kitchen taking advantage of my brother. Let me guess what that soft little thing was that touched his fingertip just now.”

His face was deathly pale as he walked closer step by step. Lu Hanchen frowned, ignored him, and kept slicing the apple.

“Was it your cheek? Your finger? Or your lips?”

I frowned at him.

“Didn’t you go find Luo Qing’er to heal you?”

Lu Zhou’s chest rose and fell even faster, and he automatically ignored my question.

“Brother, why was your heart beating so fast just now? Did she make your heart flutter?”

He stared at Lu Hanchen’s profile with almost cruel intensity as he spoke.

“Do you know how she used to describe you to me?”

My eyes widened. Wait, had he been infected by zombies or something? Why was he talking like a lunatic?

“She said you’re cold as ice, that you look scary, that she didn’t even dare get close to you…”

The knife paused. Its sharp edge sliced open Lu Hanchen’s fingertip, and blood dripped onto the small piece of apple he had just cut.

Expressionless, he put that slice of apple into his mouth and set down the knife.

“If you have time to talk, go get healed sooner.”

After saying that, he didn’t even spare us a glance before turning and leaving the kitchen.

The comments were bewildered.

[What the heck is going on? Why does the male lead suddenly feel like a villain?]

[The supporting male lead is heartbroken. His wife was talking crap about him behind his back.]

[So the male lead got what he wanted. The supporting male lead’s heart isn’t beating anymore-it’s just dead.]

Luo Qing’er poked her head out.

“Want me to heal that arm of yours? What if you die in a minute… Oh, the apple’s cut already!”

The moment I heard that Luo Qing’er was going to heal Lu Zhou, I hurried after Lu Hanchen.

Lu Hanchen’s door wasn’t locked. When I pushed it open, he was sitting on the edge of the bed. The moment he saw me come in, his body stiffened even more.

“Let me see your hand.”

I stepped forward and took his hand. He didn’t avoid me.

“Are you mad? I’m sorry. I really did say those things before.”

Thankfully, it was only a small cut, but the blood still hadn’t stopped. The man’s voice was a little low and hoarse.

“I’m not mad. Am I… really that scary?”

For a moment, I had no idea how to comfort him. Then the comments drifted across my vision.

[The villainess really sucks at comforting her husband. Look how wronged the supporting male lead looks.]

[It’s fine if she’s bad with words. As long as her lips are soft, that’s enough. Just kiss him, hug him, touch him, and the supporting male lead’s mouth will be grinning up in the sky.]

I wasn’t that lust-driven, but remembering how Lu Hanchen’s mood had seemed to improve when we held hands before, I hesitated for two seconds and pulled out the same trick I’d used on Lu Zhou.

“Can I hug you?”

The air went still. The cold, stern expression on the man’s face instantly froze, and a dark red flush crept over the tips of his ears.

“Healing works faster with a hug. Skin contact doubles the effect.”

Seeing his reaction, I felt more certain. Releasing my Healing Ability, I threw myself into his arms.

The man’s body was rigid, and his heartbeat was loud too. After a long while in the quiet room, I started getting restless.

It felt like countless ants were gnawing at my heart. I wanted direct skin-to-skin contact.

Naturally, my hand slipped beneath the hem of his shirt. After pausing for a few seconds and realizing he wasn’t stopping me, I slowly slid my hand farther inside his clothes.

The breathing above my head suddenly grew heavier, and his heartbeat pounded so hard it made the tips of my ears go numb.

Lu Hanchen’s whole body had gone taut, trembling faintly as my fingertips moved across him.

Just as I was happily using my Healing-type power while taking a few liberties, the door was suddenly kicked open with a bang.
