I took a moment to compose myself before crawling out from under the covers.

When I opened my door to go to the bathroom, Jiang Tingche had just emerged. He was bare-chested, with only a towel wrapped around his waist.

He usually wore a bathrobe at home. How generous of him to show so much today.

Up close, his abs really were identical to the photo my online boyfriend had sent me—only the real thing was much more vivid.

Perhaps he had been too worked up earlier. Even the coldest woman would have felt her heart race at this sight.

I stole a glance at him. A trace of red still lingered on his ears. His face was cool, but the heat in his eyes had not faded. His lips were flushed, as though he had bitten them until they swelled.

The memory of that restrained, trembling voice over the phone made my cheeks burn.

I looked away and said as calmly as possible, “I need to use the bathroom.”

“Mm.” It was only one low syllable, yet I could hear the rasp in his voice.

My face grew even hotter.

As I walked past him, my arm accidentally brushed his.

Hiss…

It was as though an electric current shot through my entire body. A pleasant fragrance entered my nose, cool, clear, and mysterious—just like Jiang Tingche.

We both turned and met each other’s eyes.

Those handsome eyes seemed to possess a special magic. Deep and damp, they resembled a beautiful, icy pool surrounded by vines that would ensnare any creature peering from the shadows.

I lost myself in them.

I had once seen a line online: [Eye contact is a silent kiss.]

I had not understood it then. Now I suddenly did.

One look left me feeling as though he had kissed me breathless.

What devastating sexual tension this man had.

If he were my boyfriend, I—I could eat him for every meal.

[Are you sure about that?]

[Does the supporting girl have some kind of misunderstanding about herself?]

[Understandable. When I’m hungry, I also think I can eat a whole cow. Then I’m full after a few bites.]

Uh… perhaps I was not that sure after all.

“Sorry,” I murmured. “I didn’t mean to touch you.”

Jiang Tingche’s voice held a trace of lazy ease. “It’s fine.”

The instant I shut the bathroom door, I leaned against it and tried to calm my disorderly heartbeat.

The comments screamed.

[Aaaah! Will you two stop flirting with each other?]

[You both like each other. Why can’t you be direct?]

[Nonsense. Jiang Tingche isn’t interested in Sheng Ning.]

[He’s a high-needs yandere. He wouldn’t like a good girl like her.]

[A quiet, reserved, low-energy woman like Sheng Ning could never satisfy him.]

[Jiang Tingche likes bold, seductive older-woman types like Xia Yu.]

[Sheng Ning is returning the account to Xia Yu tomorrow.]

[Jiang Tingche has been desperate to meet his online girlfriend.]

[Once they meet, they’ll hit it off and go straight to a hotel.]

[He’s never dated before. This online relationship is his first love, and he’s invested a lot of emotion in it.]

[Sheng Ning should get out while her identity is still safe.]

[If he learns that she pretended to be Xia Yu and deceived him, he’ll probably be furious.]

[Run, supporting girl! A rich heir like Jiang Tingche is not someone she can afford to provoke.]

From the corner of my eye, I noticed my slip dress in the laundry basket, dotted with moisture. The shower must have splashed it while Jiang Tingche bathed.

Yet the sight looked incredibly suggestive—far too easy to misinterpret.

I was exhausted from all the teasing.

After washing my face with cold water and calming down, I made a decision.

I left the bathroom and knocked on Jiang Tingche’s bedroom door.

“Jiang Tingche, are you asleep?”
