Chapter 4

I turned my head, only to meet the gaze of the Hehuan Sect Leader. His face was so dark it looked like it could drip ink.

I was screwed!

Using the Female Lead to block the Lightning Tribulation had been exposed after all.

I watched as the entrance grew smaller and smaller, yet I still couldn’t move.

The Taixu Illusion Realm only opened once every hundred years.

It was said to be a place left behind by a great cultivator after their ascension, filled with countless opportunities.

It was something countless cultivators flocked toward like moths to a flame.

I had finally managed to secure a chance to enter; was I really going to be stopped right here?

The Hehuan Sect Leader’s cultivation was unfathomably deep, while I was merely a lowly Golden Core.

Under his pressure, I was like a lamb to the slaughter, completely powerless to fight back.

The Hehuan Sect Leader’s eyes bulged with rage. “A mere Golden Core, yet you dared to use our sect’s Saintess to shield yourself from a Lightning Tribulation! Such an insult-did you truly think the Hehuan Sect had no one left? Today, you must give me a proper explanation!”

Anxiety surged within me, and tears began to flow uncontrollably.

My voice carried a sob. “After I was caught red-handed peeking at Master while he was bathing, I…”

He frowned. “You? What about you?”

Taking advantage of his momentary lapse, I pushed myself to the limit and broke free from his pressure.

He was just about to raise his hand to strike me.

But then he looked down to see a cold, shimmering blade plunged into his gallbladder.

I pulled the sword out smoothly and leaped toward the rapidly vanishing entrance.

I didn’t forget to wave goodbye to him as I left.

I really am too polite for my own good.

Upon entering the Taixu Illusion Realm, people weren’t all sent to the same place.

The arrival points were completely randomized.

When I opened my eyes, all I saw was pitch-black darkness.

It was likely a cave; the surroundings were damp and dark, and I could hear the sound of water nearby.

However, a rancid, fishy stench hit me right in the face, making me gag uncontrollably.

The Danmaku were gloating:

[Great, she went straight to the gut.]

I vomited even harder.

Is the Heavenly Dao playing me like a dog?

It sent me right into the belly of a Flood Dragon, as if it were afraid I wouldn’t die fast enough.

I gripped my sword and started hacking wildly at my surroundings.

It was useless.

Even the stomach lining of a Flood Dragon was as hard as iron.

The Danmaku continued to gloat:

[If nothing goes wrong, something is about to go wrong.]

Sure enough, right after I saw that comment, a wave of stench-filled liquid surged toward me.

The Danmaku were just enjoying the chaos:

[Fantastic, it’s stomach acid! Our fellow cultivator is saved!]

[This time she’s really cooked!]

[Don’t be afraid, fellow cultivator. Rest in peace. I’ll watch a sixty-second ad to resurrect you.]

When one person is in trouble, everyone else joins in to make it worse.

The Danmaku were terrified I might actually have a comfortable life; not a single one of them was helpful.

I used my spiritual power to protect my body, resisting the Flood Dragon’s stomach acid.

Unfortunately, the corrosion was too strong; no matter how much spiritual power I used, it was futile.

The Danmaku were still offering terrible advice:

[This really is a headache. Just go to a pharmacy and buy some aspirin.]

[Hacking with force won’t work. You need to use cleverness. Do you know Tension? He was my classmate.]
